Woohoo Lady Lee! Sounds like you are having a fun and productive weekend! If I weren't so happy for you I would be jealous.
Mrs Rocky
i just knew when the doorbell rang that it had to be the witnesses.
but they come here so rarely.
the thought ran through my head that they knew about my little trip to the hall last night.

Mrs Rocky
it`s been interesting watching the org.
trying different ways to make money while at the same time keeping up a front of not being interested in money.
especially since they were forced to drop the.
Preston - this is the same type of process that occurred here in the rural Pacific Northwest. At the time (this has been about 5 years ago or so) most of the elder body were out of work. The congregation also had a lot of widowed sisters on fixed incomes, young families, and quite a few retired couples. One of the elders was driving 300 miles to a job in the city, only coming home on weekends. Amazingly, he was the one pushing the whole remodel. The KH needed a new roof and some updating, mostly cosmetic stuff as the hall itself wasn't 20 years old yet. Needless to say, reason and sound economics did not win. Many heated discussions ensued. Rocky even brought the KM that counseled congregations to donate to the KH building fund to help build halls in foreign countries - you know, equalizing the funds. This elder's wife told us we were being selfish for not supporting this KH project and that the brothers in Zimbabwe were used to sitting on wooden boxes. It's what made our kids take a second look at 'the love' shown by JWs.Well, they got their remodel..the newspaper was called when they had their quick build weekend but LOL the newspaper reporter was not interested in their dog and pony show. I Haven't been inside the hall for almost three years - the last time I was there I noticed how cheap everything looked. The wallpaper trim was already coming loose from the wall. They went into debt for about $60,000.00. Structurally there was very little change, just the women's rest room and the front entrance way. And there is a new roof and a little bit of landscaping. They should have had the Taj Mahal with that kind of money! at least IMHO.

You Roar!!! Good for you and the silentlambs cause. Those lambies should make someone wonder what's going on.
Mrs R
a friend at the march, just called me to tell me how the march is going.
it's not raining and hasn't rained!!
nearly 3 hours into it, and it is still going.
Hi Mulan,
I feel compelled to speak on her behalf. She has endured so much over such a long period of time and now her physical health has not been good. So really, it would be wonderful for her to just have some peace.

Re: Jaracz
Slander...yep, it's a shadow we must acknowledge...and be careful of. But come on folks, let's not get so picky, picky, picky here. WT has many skeletons - skeletons that have hurt and continue to hurt. What does Jaracz have to lose? his reputation? yeah right...protected in the ivory tower. I know the person who has accused Jaracz. And I agree with Mulan that she is credible. This is another one of those accounts that makes me so angry about JWs and sexual assault. There was no way that the victim could ever have pursued prosecution. If children have trouble reporting sexual assault/molestation now do you think anyone would have heard a 10 year old girl 40 years ago? Elders, COs, and DOs back then were considered next to God himself. She has been tormented by this since childhood and continues to be raped emotionally by the congregation elders (I personally know some of the elders in the congregation this woman most recently associated with). It would give her (and many more of us) great satisfaction if this could have been prosecuted. This victim would just like to have some peace.
Mrs Rocky
It's been very hard to focus on work today. I keep checking the board, the on-line news reports for any mention of the march. Wish I could have been there. Roar lambs, roar!
Mrs R
just thought i'd update you all on the latest.
finally was seen by a psychiatrist.
she seems to think i may have a form of bi-polar disorder.
Hi Song,
A lot of clinics offer treatment on a sliding scale, especially if insurance doesn't cover all the services. So make sure ask about that when you sign up for the day treatment program. I work at a mental health clinic...we offer sliding scale based on income and family size, but they discontinued the day treatment program. I'm in a rural area and there just wasn't enough resources to keep it going. You're lucky to be where they still offer day treatment. I hope you find it helpful. And so glad you found out what was wrong.
Mrs R
i found an awake!
magazine tucked in my door when i came home from work last night.
i guess weve been away from the kh long enough for only a handful of them to know where we live.
To forgetmenot:
Hee hee...have to admit it's a time waster, but it does relax me at the end of the day. And some days I just have a real hard time getting relaxed, if you know what I mean. Especially with the dubbies leaving things in my door when I'm not home.
Mrs R
i was just wondering the age of most people on this forum.
i am only 18. i was just wondering if there is anyone else out there who posts and is so young.
or how old you were when you (1) left/faded from the jw organization, (2) how old you started posting here, and how old you are now.
Grandfather was a witness, and one uncle. My uncle would come by the house after a meeting and say that they took the last count for Armageddon and we weren't there to be counted. I think I was 8 when an older couple in the hall, 'anointed' they were, started picking us up for meetings. Was 10 when my oldest brother invited a pioneer couple to study with us. Started giving talks in the Theocratic School when I was 11. Baptized at 14. My dad reactivated (he had been inactive since high school) and was quickly appointed as an elder.
Started having serious doubts about 10 years ago, but kept them to myself. Emotionally left the Witnesses about 5 years ago, and have been fading away since. Stopped publishing 5 years ago. Haven't been inside the KH for 2 1/2 years.
Found this forum a couple of years ago but only lurked, was too afraid to post. Finally started posting November of last year. Love this place. I am 44.
Mrs Rocky
it's that time again!
time for the watchtower to beg for contributions!.
the nov. 1 wt has the usual article with a great big grey box covering two pages.
To JustLittleOldMe: This is a regular, annual article - we call it the Christmas charity drive. WT has posted an article every November, can't remember for how many years. We looked a while ago and I've forgotten how many years, but it has been quite some time.
